This Carver family genealogy is the result of many years of family research. It got its start when my daughter Claudia, then in the fourth grade, asked me a simple question one night. "Where did our people come from?" My answer was pretty lame. I didn't know much more than scattered bits and pieces, so I launched into a ten year serious quest to find more about our roots. This genealogy goes back to my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather, William Carver, born about 1740 most likely in Stafford County, Virginia. That's as far back as I was able to document.  I have published two family genealogy books: (1) The Carver Family Source Book, 5/e, 1993, and (2) A Carver Family History, 1996. The first book includes extensive Carver family info from the late 1700s of North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. It has been out of print for about six years. The second book is primarily about my Carver family roots of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky with lots of family photos. I have copies of this book for sale.
